Born in Germany, I live and work in Brussels, Belgium.

I am an abstract painter who loves to learn and to experiment. My inspiration comes from photography, landscape or simply from every day life. Over the years I have learned to trust the process. Therefore, my paintings are created in a process of discovery, trial and error as well as letting go. The textures in my paintings are based on Natural materials, such as rock and stone flours. I also use various types of papers, tissue, tree bark and other materials as well as acrylic, ink & pigments.

My artwork basically reflects what we all experience in our lives... we start with an idea, then we make a plan based on that, realising that we might need a new strategy since the original one does not work. Finally, we start all over again or we are bold and take it from there,  ending up with a visible track, covering it up or we are even bolder and we start all over again. A the end, the painting shows every single of those steps, every layer of colour we have applied, every scratch from removing parts of the texture ... like scratches that leave scars or like our memories reflecting the experiences of our lives.

My other passion is Photography. I love to see the world through my camera. Sometimes I catch special moments while on other occasions a little detail gains unexpected importance. This way a small item that is easily overlooked becomes a piece of art itself. But see for yourself...
